CASE STUDY: People

A developing ministry in Edgecombe County seeking to serve as a solid faith community and support efforts that will meet the community’s broader, practical needs.

This church plant’s senior leadership desired to provide intensive leadership development training for its emerging leaders.

After considerable dialogue with the senior pastor, we facilitated a leadership development training seminar for a group of approximately 12 people at its Emerging Leaders Retreat. Areas of emphasis included evaluating effectiveness, strategy development, and recognizing growth opportunity areas. That successful engagement led to a continued partnership, which resulted in a deeper dive into the organization’s strategic planning needs in the form of a leader engagement and preliminary brainstorming assessment. These tools will aid the organization in future strategy development.

“The knowledge Kimberly provided to the emerging leaders was invaluable. And, the results of the Strategic Brainstorming Assessment were impeccable. We took the assessment to Our Advisory Council and were able to adopt this assessment as the foundation of a five-year strategic plan.”

CASE STUDY: Processes

A consulting firm offering coaching and support to address change through system-level approaches, equity, and strategic collaboration.

Seeking to launch several major change initiatives in a relatively short timespan, the client needed a strategy that yielded the most impact and returns on investment.

Our team led the client through a series of executive advising and workflow sessions that resulted in a clear path forward to a three-step strategy implementation process. This process allows for each change initiative and product launch to funnel into and build upon the previous work achieved.

CASE STUDY: Planning

An established statewide nonprofit organization with over 20 years of experience serving underrepresented and under-resourced populations in North Carolina.

Facing executive leadership transition, the Board of Directors sought to provide day-to-day operational support and leadership for its staff, as well as continue defining major strategic planning initiatives that would position the organization for long-term growth and success.

We partnered with the Board of Directors and leadership staff to craft communication to guide the transition process, keeping stakeholders informed and engaged in the change initiatives underway. We supported day-to-day operation activities while evaluating workflow processes and capacity. We also designed an action plan to steer the work and direction of the organization. Working closely with the Board of Directors, we engaged in scenario planning and forecasting, which led to the organization’s bold decision to enter into a merger with another statewide nonprofit organization and long-time partner.
